Two weeks ago a distraught and desperate 46 year old mother of two came to see me. She was angry. She was embarrassed. She explained she suspected her husband was having an affair and wanted proof and closure. I explained that her circumstances were common and that I would start immediately.
Rather than giving this case to another private detective or investigator, I took this case on myself as she had been referred to me by another satisfied Melbourne client. After three days of surveillance I dubbed the husband \”Mr Smiley\” in my notes as he was always smiling. Too much I felt! Well, on the fourth day I got a surprise… I knew my client would get closure but would be very angry.
Mr Smiley visited the florist in the morning and bought two bouquets of flowers – a small one and a larger one. He then visited an apartment where he proceeded to give the larger bouquet to a younger lady. Much affection and adoration followed – all captured nicely on video. I called my client and told her what had happened. She asked if I could copy the video onto a DVD and get it to her before 6pm that night. I didn’t expect what followed that night!
Her husband, Mr Smiley, was having dinner that night with his wife and her parents. When he came home with the small bouquet his wife acted pleasantly surprised. They then sat down to eat with her parents and proceeded to the TV area. She told me later that she put the DVD on to shock and surprise her husband and parents. It was sad for her after 20 years of marriage. But she got the closure she needed.
